Riga-Cambridge Venture Camp 2015 will be organized throughout October – December for students and prosperous entrepreneurs in Riga and Cambridge, UK. Students and prosperous entrepreneurs, who are willing to start their business, are invited to take part in the Venture Camp. In the first part of the Camp, which will be held in Riga (17.10.–14.11.2015.), students will develop their business ideas and will compete for the opportunity to participate in the second part of the Camp (28.11.–06.12.2015.) in Cambridge by pitching their business ideas. 20 best students and prosperous entrepreneurs will be nominated to take part in the Camp in Cambridge along with Finnish students. Then lessons in Riga and Cambridge will be led by competent, acknowledged professors – entrepreneurs from universities of Latvia and Cambridge.

A specialized course “Train the Trainers” for entrepreneurship professors will be organized in Cambridge within the framework of the Venture Camp (27.–28.11.2015.) to enhance entrepreneurship education practice and methodology. Professors from Latvian universities are invited to take part in this course. Professors are also invited to participate in the Venture Camp as mentors and apply the newly-acquired methods from the course by working with students. The initiator of the Venture Camp is professor D.B.A., F.R.S.A. Alan Barrell (www.alanbarrell.com), who has spent almost 30 years in senior executive positions in technology-based industries, and has international experience as a professor working in several leading universities in the UK, Finland and China. The aim of Alan Barrell is to promote development of entrepreneurship in Europe and Asia, by creating opportunities for international cooperation among educational institutions, entrepreneurs and organisations working in this area. To expand the perspectives of prosperous entrepreneurs from Latvia, Riga-Cambridge Venture Camp is being organised, which we wish to develop as an annual event. The organizer of the Venture Camp in Latvia is the Foundation “CONNECT Latvija” in collaboration with Latvian universities and other supporters. Students and prosperous entrepreneurs, who will take part in the second part of the Camp in Cambridge, have to consider a participation fee of approximately 400 €, which will cover travel and student hostel expenses. The participation fee for professors is 650 €,which includes participation in the course “Train the Trainers”, travel and hostel expenses.
