FBME student awards
Students of the University of Latvia, Faculty of Business, Management and Economics, are rewarded for their contribution to the sports or cultural life of the University of Latvia and the Faculty, or as an important contribution to the promotion of the public image of the University of Latvia and the Faculty, including by participating at scientific conferences, competitions and successfuly establishing recognizable business in cooperation with University of Latvia Business Incubator.
The purpose of the award is to motivate students of the faculty to contribute to the promotion of the public image of the University of Latvia and the Faculty, to participate in scientific conferences, competitions and to develop the business created at the University of Latvia.
Students who have made a significant contribution may qualify for financial awards and reduction of tuition fees in accordance with the procedures established by the University of Latvia.
Students can qualify for awards if they have completed all academic semesters, have no unjustified financial debts, average weighted mark is not lower than 7, student is not exmatriculated.
University of Latvia Foundation administers a number of Patron scholarships open to outstanding students and researchers or those with limited resources. The information about Patron scholarships open to EU citizens and third country nationals is available upon request.
Scholarship for undergraduates, graduates and students of professional programmes
Application for scholarship must be submitted in the electronic system of the UL LUIS within 10 days from the beginning of registration week of the respectivesemester according to the calender of academic year. The documents confirming student's eligibility for the scholarship must be submitted to the secretary of the faculty.
In accordance with bilateral agreements on co-operation in education and science concluded between Latvian government and a few countries Latvia offers scholarships to foreign students, researchers and teaching staff for studies, research and participation in summer schools in Latvian higher education institutions (HEIs) in the 2019/2020 academic year. The Ministry of Education and Science of Latvia has delegated the administration of the Latvian state scholarships to the State Education Development Agency (Valsts izglītības attīstības aģentūra – VIAA).
