prof. Gundars Bērziņš

Gundars Berzins is dean of the University of Latvia’s Faculty of Business, Management and Economics and professor. He holds a doctorate in management science and as a leading researcher has participated in many research projects and has authored a number of international scientific publications. His research interests include business strategies and regional policy. At the same time, he is also a member of the board at the SSE Riga Foundation and a member of the UL Student Business Incubator Council. He has previously held a post of Chancellor of the University of Latvia. For a long time, he also had a private business. His passion is the importance of strategy and strategic thinking in business. He is excited to read lectures on “Management theories”, “Business Strategy and Policy Management” and “Strategic and Operational Planning”.

 

 

Inna Romanova is a Professor of Finance and the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Business, Management and Economics at the University of Latvia, the Director of the Scientific Institute of Economics and Management, and the Director of a professional Master degree programme Finance Economy. She is an expert in Economics and Management sciences of the Latvian Academy of Sciences. Her academic interests are in Corporate Finance and Analysis. She has more than twelve years of pedagogic experience both in Latvia and abroad, she is a visiting professor in several Universities in Europe. She has also professional experience in banking and finance, both in Latvia and Germany. Her research focus is on Financial Technologies, Financial Management and Asset Management. She is on the editorial board of several scientific journals: Journal of Accounting, Finance and Auditing Studies, International Journal of Finance, Insurance and Risk Management and European Journal of Research Studies. She co-edited the 2017 volume of Emerald “Contemporary Studies in Economic and Financial Analysis: Issues in Finance: Current Challenges from Across Europe”. She has participated in a number of research projects, including the State Research Programme Project “Challenges and Solutions of Latvian State and Society in an International Framework” (head of the UL sub-project).

 

Vice Dean for Studies

Her academic interests are in economics, international economics and finance. For many years, professor Margarita Dunska is one of the leading experts in these topics. She also is an expert in the Academic Information Center, has participated in the accreditation of several programs at other universities. The professor also has many years of experience in administrative work in higher education. In recent years, she has been the director of biggest study programs at the Faculty.
