On behalf of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Latvia it is a great honour and privilege to invite you to attend and participate at the International Scientific Conference “NEW CHALLENGES OF ECONOMIC AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT - 2014”. The conference has become annual and this year will be the 7th time to host and organize the conference.
In recent years the economies of many regions and countries of the world have faced multiple challenges and experienced drastic changes with introducing austerity measures thus affecting other countries and regions and impacting cross-sectorial relations at a very large extent. The slow-down of the economical development and prosperity and even its strong economical decline in many developed countries as opposed to swift growth in emerging countries, stirs a desire and necessity to discover new know-how and knowledge for new business strategies and approaches. Sustainable development in different economic sectors, responsible and innovative business practices, global demographic changes and emerging markets and other crucial issues are more and more discussed by researchers and practitioners.
Researchers, professionals, academics, policy makers, practitioners, government officials and postgraduate students are encouraged and welcomed to participate in discussions, sharing best practices and paving new roads disclosing challenges in different fields of economics and management. The aim of the conference is to discuss results of scientific research in economic and management issues, identify the possibilities to merge with practical matters and to establish new networks for future research co-operation.
Conference will be organized in several parallel sessions:
