Getting to Riga


There are direct flights to Riga from more than 85 cities in Europe, Asia, Africa, and America. The Latvian national airline, airBaltic (, provides easy and convenient connections to all the major airports in Europe and CIS countries.

Riga International Airport ( is only ten kilometres southwest of the Riga city centre. A taxi ride from the airport to central Riga takes between ten and twenty minutes, depending on traffic, and costs approximately EUR 10–13.

Bus no. 22 runs to and from the airport and departs every 10–20 minutes from opposite the bus terminal building near the Old Town, and the fare costs EUR 2.00.

Riga has a developed bus traffic to many cities in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Great Britain, France etc. Trip from Berlin to Riga lasts approximately 22 hours. Riga International Coach Terminal is located in the very center of the city. Time table of bus traffic is available here.

Ferry connections to Riga are available from Stockholm. Tallink ( operates ferry connections from Stockholm to Riga every other day. The ferry terminal building is located at Eksporta iela 1, within walking distance of the Old City.



Train connections to Riga are available from Moscow (twice daily), St. Petersburg (daily), and Pskov (daily), operated by the Latvian State Railway Company Latvijas Dzelzceļš ( The recently renovated Riga Central Railway Station is located at Stacijas Square, directly east of the Old Town border.


How to reach the venue from the Riga International Airport by:


A cheaper option is to take bus No 22 which goes to the center of Riga. The ride is approximately 30 minutes long and the bus leaves every 10 - 30 minutes, from 05:45 a.m. till 00:10 a.m.

To get on the bus at the airport look for bus stop located opposite the terminal behind the car park P1.

A one way ticket bought at the bus driver costs 2,00 EUR. 
A ticket for an unlimited number of trips is valid 24 hours from its first usage costs 5,00 EUR.
If you buy your ticket before commencing your trip at the airport services and tourism information bureau "Welcome to Riga", a regular one-way ticket will cost you only (1,15 EUR).

The bus stop closest to the venue (10 min walk) in the city center is called "Autoosta" (Riga International Coach Terminal) and it's located on January 13 Street (13.janvāra iela) .

Taxi service will take you to Riga city centre and other destinations. The journey from the Airport to the city centre will take about 20 minutes, depending on the traffic intensity.

From 21 March 2018, the regulatory framework for commercial passenger transport by taxi has changed and there is no longer a regulatory ceiling for taxi rates.
